Van driver cut free by firefighters after Sutton Bank crash

A van driver had to be cut free by firefighters after a crash on the A170 at Sutton bank this morning.

The single-vehicle collision occurred at around 7am.

Thirsk and Helmsley fire crews along with two officers attended the incident.

Firefighters removed both doors of the van to release a male casualty who was medically trapped inside.

Crews assisted ambulance paramedics in transferring the casualty onto a spinal board and into a road ambulance for transporting to hospital.

The incident was then left in hands of the police.
