Police have appealed for information after corrosive liquid was poured over a vehicle parked outside a home in Northallerton.
The criminal damage occurred on a new-build housing estate in the north of the town, between the new Aldi supermarket and North Moor House.
North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened at about 10.30pm on August 4.
The victim’s vehicle was parked on their driveway when a corrosive liquid was poured over it, causing damage.
Officers investigating the incident are particularly keen to trace a suspect who was seen wearing a hooded top with the hood pulled up.
The person was reportedly walking around the new-build estate carrying a liquid container.
Police are asking residents to check CCTV, doorbell cameras and other footage which may have captured the suspect around the time of the incident.
