Hunt for best Christmas jumper in Thirsk

The best Christmas jumpers and most festive market stalls have been celebrated in Thirsk.

Market traders in the town decorated their stalls and donned Christmas jumpers to add some extra Christmas spirit at last week’s festive market.

The regular Saturday market was joined by extra stalls selling local crafts and alcoholic gifts whilst Thirsk Royal British Legion Band provided live music to help create the festive atmosphere.

The winner of the best dress stall was Hadfield Pets closely followed by Pinfold Pies and Ben Smith and Alan Blundel from Michaels Clothing won the best Christmas jumpers with Phil and Natalie Ibbitson from Hatfield Pets awarded second place.

The festive market was part of Hambleton District Council’s Vibrant Market Towns initiative which is focuses on developing projects that enhance the vibrancy of the district’s traditional market towns.

This weekend’s Northallerton Market, on Saturday, December 1 will again have the market traders vying for best dressed stall and best Christmas jumper.
