Firefighters were called to a fire at a house in West Rounton yesterday.
Two fire engines from Northallerton were sent to the property at about 6.30pm.
They found that paper had ignited from residual heat from a log burner.
The blaze caused a small amount of fire damage and a large amount of smoke damage to the property.
Crews used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera at the incident.
