A hospice charity will be illuminating people’s tributes to their loved ones on a special Christmas tree next month.

Herriot Hospice Homecare will be celebrating the lives of those no longer with us with its Light up a Life project.

A light on the Herriot Christmas tree will be illuminated in tribute to each loved one who is being remembered.

People can see the lights illuminated at a community event at St Mary’s Church in Thirsk on Saturday, December 15 at 4pm. There will be carols, readings, refreshments and time to reflect.

People taking part will receive a star to hang on a Christmas tree at home with a personal message, or to bring to the Light up a Life service and place on the Herriot tree.

Those making a donation as part of their dedication, will be helping Herriot Hospice Homecare to help more families affected by terminal illness over the festive season.

Donations can help Herriot Hospice Homecare support patients in their place of choice, ensuring they can spend Christmas at home surrounded by friends and family.
