Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in the open in Thirsk last night.
A crew from Northallerton responded to multiple reports of a blaze on York Road at about 7.17pm.
On arrival, firefighters discovered a bonfire measuring approximately three metres by three metres.
The crew extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
Advice was given following the incident.
