Fire crews respond after boiler leak damages electrics in Thirsk home

Firefighters were called to a property in Thirsk after a boiler ruptured and caused water damage affecting the home’s electrical system.

Thirsk fire crew was mobilised to an address on Topcliffe Road at 11.50pm on Sunday following reports that water had leaked from the first floor of the property to the ground floor.

The leak, caused by a ruptured boiler, affected the electrics inside the house.

Crews were able to isolate the water supply and stop the leak, preventing further damage to the property.

After making the scene safe, firefighters advised the occupier to arrange for both an electrician and a plumber to attend during daylight hours to assess and repair the damage.
