Wensleydale Railway is bringing back its popular Fireworks Express service to help families from the western end of the dale enjoy Bedale’s annual community fireworks display.
The special train service will operate on Saturday, November 7, providing an alternative to driving to the event at Bedale Park.
Trains will depart from Leeming Bar at 4pm and Leyburn at 5pm, with services operating between the two stations.
Adult return tickets cost £10, while children aged three to 15 can travel for just £1 when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.
The annual fireworks event takes place in the historic surroundings of Bedale Park, with Bedale Hall providing the backdrop.
Gates will open at 5pm, with live music ahead of the fireworks display at 7pm.
Nick Keegan, marketing and fundraising manager at Wensleydale Railway, said the service offered visitors a convenient way to attend the popular community event.
He said: “We are pleased to once again provide our Fireworks Express service in support of the Bedale community fireworks event.
“Our train service is the perfect way for people to attend the event and avoid driving on dark, busy roads and the stress of finding a car parking space.
“This year, why not support this community event, and your community railway, and let the train take the strain!”
The heritage railway operates the special service each year to make the fireworks display more accessible to residents living further west along Wensleydale.
