Firefighters and police were called to Cod Beck Reservoir after reports of a barbecue being used at the popular beauty spot.
A crew from Northallerton Fire Station and police attended the reservoir, near Osmotherley, at about 5.40pm on Saturday.
The emergency services found a group of men using a barbecue.
Firefighters used buckets of water to extinguish it and advice was given to those involved.
According to the fire service incident report, the men said they had not received any Government alerts warning about the fire risk.Men
