North Yorkshire Police have put a dispersal order in place in Thirsk this evening after receiving reports of increased antisocial behaviour.
Officers say large groups have gathered in a way that caused alarm to members of the public.
The order, which covers the area shown on the police map, runs from 3.30pm today until 3.30am tomorrow.
Under the order, officers have the power to disperse groups of people and direct individuals to leave the designated area.
Anyone issued with such a direction must not return within 48 hours. Failure to comply is a criminal offence.
Police are urging residents to report incidents of antisocial behaviour by calling 101, or 999 if the situation is happening at the time of the call.
