Fire crews were called to Tannery Lane, Northallerton, on Wednesday evening after reports of a fire in the open.
A crew from Northallerton attended the incident at 8.26pm and found a small campfire that had been left unattended.
Firefighters used knapsack sprayers and a fire bucket to extinguish the blaze.
