Police have issued an appeal after being called to a pony and trap race on Saturday.
The incident took place at about 8am on the A168, near Dishforth, with reports of a number of vehicles being involved in the meet.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “This resulted in vehicles driving on both sides of the road and causing other road users to take action to avoid a collision, including mounting the grass verge.
“As part of the ongoing investigation, we are requesting dashcam footage that may cover the incident or any other information.”
