Wensleydale Railway is offering passengers a 10 per cent discount on its popular afternoon tea train services throughout May.
The heritage railway has launched a “May Madness Deal” covering all afternoon tea trains booked between May 1 and May 31, with the discount already applied to ticket prices.
The offer also includes the railway’s new Indian Cuisine Evening Special trains, which will run in May and September.
Nick Keegan, marketing and fundraising manager at the railway, said the promotion had been introduced to help provide visitors with an affordable day out while supporting the volunteer-led attraction.
He said: “We’re ever conscious of the economic challenges that our visitors face and offering them a good value day out is always in the forefront of our minds.
“Our kids-for-a-quid travel offer is available all-year-round and allows children aged three to 15 to travel for only £1 on our trains with a paying adult.
“We also offer local residents a 25 per cent discount on their travel.
“By introducing this new special offer, we hope that it will encourage more people to support our volunteer-led heritage railway and experience the delicious food, stunning scenery and friendly volunteers that we have.”
The railway says demand for the discounted services has already been strong, with bookings increasing since the offer was announced.
Mr Keegan said the Yorkshire Day afternoon tea service in August is already 75 per cent sold out, while places on several other services are becoming limited.
He added: “I would urge people to book now at this reduced price, before they’re all gone.”
The Wensleydale Railway runs through the Yorkshire Dales and hosts a range of themed dining and heritage experiences throughout the year alongside its regular passenger services.
