Two cyclists hurt in hit-and-run crash near Northallerton

The incident happened on Lowfield Lane near Kirkby Fleetham.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving two cyclists and a car on rural roads near Northallerton.

The two cyclists were travelling along Lowfield Lane from Kirkby Fleetham in the direction of Great Langton.

As the they have approached the South Lowfield Farm area they have been involved in a collision with a vehicle, which left the scene of the collision.

One of the riders was seriously hurt and the other sustained slight injuries.

It happened on Sunday 13 January at around 1.25pm.

The vehicle is described as a dark-coloured hatchback.

Police are appealing for witnesses, dashcam footage or anyone who the vehicle in the moments leading up to the crash.

They also want to hear from anyone who has noticed recent damage to a vehicle matching the description, possibly on the driver’s side, or anyone who has overheard someone talking about the accident.
