Tourism ‘show and tell’ to take place in Northallerton

Last years leaflet exchange took place at Kiplin Hall but the 2024 event has moved to a larger venue due to its popularity.

A tourism ‘show and tell’ is taking place next week in Northallerton.

The event will be held from 10am to 1pm on Monday, March 4 at The Golden Lion Hotel in Northallerton.

There will be a leaflet exchange at which local and regional attractions display their 2024 marketing literature.

Owners and staff from accommodation providers and tourism services can visit the event to collect the new leaflets, taking them back to their own venues to share with guests.

The event is followed by complimentary entry to Kiplin Hall & Gardens, which is organising the morning.

Kiplin marketing manager, Samantha Jennings said: “We know that many of our visitors come to Kiplin because they’ve heard about us from someone else; a hotel receptionist, staff in a café, a B&B host.

“That word-of-mouth promotion is so important to us.

“We also know many of the people working in those roles don’t always have time to visit us themselves. At the leaflet exchange people can collect as much literature as they like in one go.

“At past events I’ve seen people fill up suitcases on wheels! If you own a B&B this is a great, free way to fill up your leaflet rack. We are also thrilled to welcome people working in hospitality on a free visit to Kiplin Hall and Gardens, so that they have that first-hand experience to share with their customers.

“We have new exhibitions and updates to displays each year, so it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to show off what’s new for 2024.”

The event will feature attractions large and small, including the likes of Newby Hall, Richmondshire Museum, and Hopetown Darlington.
