Police say a incident which occurred in Bedale yesterday is now no longer believed to be suspicious.
A white hatchback car was parked at Bedale Beck Bridge at around 3pm on Sunday.
The only occupant was the driver, a white male wearing a beanie hat.
He asked 16-year-old female if she wanted a lift.
When she has refused the vehicle has driven off towards Northallerton.
However, a member of the public has now been touch with police to say he was the driver and mistakenly thought he knew the teenager and the offer of a lift was genuine.
