Surge in confirmed Covid-19 cases across Hambleton

Hambleton has seen a surge in Covid-19 cases with 88 positive tests in the last seven days.

The district saw the most positive tests for a single day since the pandemic started on Wednesday when 26 confirmed cases were recorded.

The seven-day rate for Hambleton now stands at 137.6 cases per 100,000 people.

There have now been 905 confirmed cases in Hambleton in total up until October 24.

Localised data for the district shows the Leeming, Pickhill and Thornton area has the most confirmed cases in the seven days to October 20, with 17.

The confirmed cases in the other areas of the district were:

  • Northallerton South and Leeming Bar 12
  • Northallerton 14
  • Brompton, Appleton and Thimbleby 12
  • Rudby and Ingleby 12
  • Great Ayton and Stokesley 9
  • Thirsk North 10
  • Thirsk South and Coxwold 13
  • Easingwold and Stillington 9

In total, 75 people have now died after testing positive for coronavirus in the district.

Of the 75 deaths of Hambleton residents who had tested positive for the virus, all occurred after March 15, according to the data.
