A vehicle stolen from Great Ayton High Street has been recovered by police within 48 hours.
North Yorkshire Police said the vehicle was stolen on September 1 and spotted by officers carrying out proactive patrols the following day.
Police said officers identified the vehicle and carried out enquiries which led to its recovery.
The force said the incident demonstrated the value of officers carrying out patrols as well as members of the public reporting suspicious activity.
Residents have been thanked for continuing to provide information and raise concerns with police.
Following the recovery, officers have also issued advice to motorists to reduce the risk of vehicle theft.
Drivers are being urged to ensure vehicles are locked and windows fully closed when left unattended, as well as removing keys and keeping valuables out of sight.
Police also recommend additional security measures such as steering wheel locks, trackers and immobilisers where appropriate.
Owners of vehicles with keyless entry systems are advised to keep fobs away from doors and windows and consider using a signal-blocking pouch.
Motorists are also encouraged to park in well-lit and secure locations whenever possible.
Anyone witnessing suspicious behaviour, an attempted vehicle theft or a vehicle being driven suspiciously should report it to police, with 999 used in an emergency.
