An appeal has been launched to help raise money for a bike for a little girl with cerebral palsy.
Lillian, aged 5, from Bedale, needs a specially adapted bike due to her condition.
Lillian’s mum, Julie Cussons, works at 121 Workwear, at Constable Burton, near Leyburn, and the firm has already paid the deposit towards the £1,550 bike meaning there’s £800 remaining.
Now, staff at the clothing company are planning a sponsored bike ride to raise the rest of the money needed for the bike.
Chantelle Spedding, from 121 Workwear, said: “We’re raising money to buy Lillian her very own bespoke bike.
“Lillian’s mum Julie has worked at 121 Workwear for over 5 years and we want to give something back to her
“We have already covered the cost of the deposit now we want to raise the remaining cost of the bike.”
On April 6, the 121 Workwear team will cycle from the Tan Hill Inn to The Black Horse at Kirkby Fleetham to raise money for the bike which is a 30 mile bike ride which will take around four hours.
Lillian began having seizures at six months old, but it was only recently after years of tests that she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
