The Environment Agency will hold an information event on Stokesley flood alleviation scheme this week.

The event will take place at Stokesley Town Hall on Friday, January 31 from 3pm to 7pm.

Am Environment Agency spokesperson said: “Are you interested in finding out about how we are helping to reduce flood risk in Stokesley and the ways in which we are improving the flow of the River Leven through the town?

“Stokesley is protected from floods by the Stokesley Flood Diversion Channel.

“We have identified a number of areas on the channel where improvements need to be made in order to maintain ongoing flood protection.

“At the same time, we aim to create a better habitat for wildlife and naturalise water flow.

“Drop in to our event – where officers will be on hand to show you our project designs, answer any questions you may have and listen to your feedback.”

Everybody is welcome.
