Police investigate burglary in Hackforth

Police are appealing for information following a burglary at Hackforth near Bedale.

It is believed the incident took place sometime between 10am and 12.30pm on Monday.

Thieves stole jewellery in the burglary on a house.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We would like to reassure the community that we are working to identify the person or people responsible and would appeal to anyone who was in the area and noticed anything suspicious to contact the police.

“Your information will be looked at thoroughly and could really help our enquiries.”

In recent weeks there have been a number of burglaries in the area, including break-ins at Yafforth, Exelby, Newton-le-Willows and Bellerby, near Leyburn.
