Police in Northallerton investigate Scottish banknote fraud

Police are appealing for information after fake banknotes were used in Northallerton.

Two men visited a hotel in Northallerton and paid for goods using fraudulent Scottish £50 banknotes.

The incident happened on Sunday, April 7.

Police in Northallerton are appealing to other stores and local businesses in the local area to come forward if they have taken any Scottish £50 notes recently or if they believe that the males may have entered their store.

The fraudulent notes had a serial number which ends in ‘199’.
