One-off Christmas tree collection for garden waste subscribers

Hambleton residents who have subscribed to the garden waste collection will receive a one off collection in January to accommodate the disposal of Christmas trees – normal garden waste is also accepted during this collection.

Collections will take place week commencing 7 or 14 January 2019.

Specific collection dates can be checked on the councils’ website – hambleton.gov.uk

Trees must be chopped up and placed in the green bin with the lid closed.   Trees left at the side of bins will not be collected.

Non subscribing residents will have to dispose of their trees themselves  – trees can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Sandholme Lane, Sowerby; Yafforth Road, Northallerton; Leeming Bar Industrial Estate; Stokesley Industrial Estate and Tholthorpe for composting.  The sites are open from 8.30am until 4pm.

They are closed on 25, 26 December and 1 January and every Wednesday.

  • Subscriptions for the district council’s 2019/20 garden waste service – which runs from 1 April  – has opened.  New and existing customers can sign up for the £35 a year fortnightly collection service at hambleton.gov.uk
