More than £1,400 raised during street collection for mountain rescue charity

The public has been thanked for their support after £1,419 was raised for Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team.

The money was donated to the charity during a street collection in Northallerton yesterday.

A spokesperson said: “It is tremendous amount, especially consider these challenging economic times.

“Thanks also to the many team members who took part – a great team effort.

“As always, there were many positive comments about the work of the search and rescue team, and not forgetting the often unseen work of our Support members, who also took part today.

“Thanks again to everyone for your contributions.”

The team is helping out with Santa’s sleigh run around Great Ayton next Saturday evening.
