Lead thieves cause £100,000 of damage to Bedale Hall

The lead has been stolen off the roof at Beadle Hall.

Police have issued an appeal for information after thieves stripped the lead from the roof at Bedale Hall.

It is estimated the damage will cost £100,000 to repair.

Police say the theft was only discovered due to the recent rainfall.

The theft could have occurred any time between September 16 and 8am on September 27.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “It is estimated that the cost to the charity run hall will be in the region of £100,000.”
