Fire crews were called to a field fire in Great Ayton this evening after reports of children setting a tree alight.
Northallerton firefighters attended the incident at 6.13pm alongside an appliance from Cleveland Fire Brigade.
On arrival, crews discovered a tree that had been set on fire. Although the blaze was largely out, some embers remained.
Firefighters used buckets of water and a knapsack sprayer to fully extinguish the fire and make the area safe.
