More than 30 firefighters battled a large barn fire overnight.

Crews came from across North Yorkshire to the incident in Langthorne, near Bedale.

The fire was reported at about 12.30am this morning.

Crews from Bedale and Colburn initially attended to the report of straw on fire in a barn.

On arrival the first appliance requested a back up of four further fire engines for water.

Masham, Leyburn, Richmond and Northallerton all attended, along with Tadcaster who attended with their water bowser.

The fire spread from the straw and set fire to the building and a tractor and trailer contained within it.

No people or livestock were injured in the blaze.
