Firefighters were called to a warehouse at Dalton Airfield Industrial Estate near Thirsk after a forklift battery caught fire.
Crews from Thirsk and Ripon responded to the incident at 11.28am.
The fire was already out when firefighters arrived at the warehouse.
Crews remained at the scene to monitor hot spots and used a hose reel jet to dampen down the affected area.
A thermal imaging camera was also used to monitor the forklift battery until its temperature had fallen to a safe level.
