Family pay tribute to ‘amazing Pete’ after fatal Thirsk collision

The family of a man who died following a collision in Thirsk have paid tribute to someone who “meant something to everyone, but absolutely everything to us”.

Peter Hudson, 61, from Thirsk, died after a collision involving a pedestrian and a white Mercedes A-Class in Market Place at about 10.30pm on Sunday, June 7.

Paying tribute, his family said: “We are devastated by the loss of our amazing Pete.

“Totally irreplaceable, kind, loving and hilarious. He was adored by family and friends, and meant something to everyone, but absolutely everything to us. We will love him and miss him always.”

North Yorkshire Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have CCTV, dashcam or other footage that could assist enquiries.
