Final festive preparations are being put in place in Hambleton’s market towns.

Stokesley and Easingwold markets are operating as normal on Christmas Eve with extra markets being held at both Northallerton and Thirsk.

There is no market at Thirsk on Monday 27 December 2021 although Bedale and Northallerton markets are operating as usual on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 December.

With Stokesley and Easingwold markets both cancelled on New Year’s Eve, extra markets being held at Thirsk and Northallerton.

All markets are back to the normal schedule from Monday 3 January 2022.

This year there are no bin collection day changes throughout the festive period, with collections taking place on their normal days as usual.  Collection dates can be checked on www.hambleton.gov.uk.

Free festive parking continues in all of the district council run car parks until 3 January 2022. The free parking applies to over 900 bays across the district, with the council encouraging the use of the time limits in dedicated ‘short stay’ car parks.

Please note, the district council no longer manages Crosby Road car park in Northallerton therefore this car park is not subject to free parking.  The High Street in Northallerton is also not subject to free parking as it is managed by North Yorkshire County Council.

The Civic Centre closes at 12 noon on Christmas Eve and reopens on Tuesday 4 January 2022 at 8.45am but emergencies will still be dealt with whilst the offices are shut. The area offices in Easingwold and Stokesley reopen on Friday 7 January at 8.45am and will then continue to operate on Tuesday and Friday each week.

Information on all council services including online payments and self-serve facilities is available on hambleton.gov.uk.

The district council would like to thank all of its customers for their support through 2021 and wish everyone a safe and merry Christmas, a happy new year and all the best for 2022.
