Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team’s annual Whalebones Walk will take place on Sunday, May 5 and is now open for entries.

Starting at the Whitby Whalebones, entrants walk or run for 22-miles along stunning coastal paths finishing at Errington Primary School, Marske-by-the-Sea where refreshments will be available.

Team members will be providing support along the way.

Children are welcome but under-18s must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them on the day.

Dogs also welcome but not on the coach.

A CMRT spokesperson said: “It is a long walk so please make sure that you, any accompanying children and/or dogs are able to cover that distance.

“Also, bear in mind – the route follows cliff-top paths along the Cleveland Way and passes through some farmland so please keep dogs on leads.”

Coach transport is available if required, departing from Errington Primary School (leaves 0800 hours prompt) to the start-point at Whitby (for 0845-0900 hours).

Full details will be sent to participants nearer the time.

All profit from entry fees will go towards meeting our annual running costs.

Sponsorship is not a requirement but please consider it, as it is a great way to boost funds from the event.

A sponsorship form is available to download from our website via the event entry page below.

Entry is just £15 per person (if using the coach) or £10 if you make your own way to Whitby.

Entries close on April 28.
