A fault with a dishwasher caused a house fire in Great Ayton last night.
Fire crews from Stokesley and Coulby Newham were called to the incident in California Grove at around 11.20pm.
They arrived to find a fire in the kitchen of the property.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This was caused by a dishwasher and was extinguished using a hose reel jet, four sets of breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan.”
