Firefighters were called to a field fire near Great Ayton on Friday evening.
A crew from Northallerton attended the scene at around 5.19pm after reports of smoke in the area.
On arrival, crews found a fire measuring approximately 30 by 40 metres, which had already burned out.
Firefighters used two knapsack sprayers and a thermal imaging camera to dampen down the area and check for any remaining hotspots.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate, and North Yorkshire Police have been informed.
