A North Yorkshire village is gearing up for its seventh annual beer festival this weekend.
The popular event in Danby Wiske, near Northallerton, returns on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, with organisers promising the biggest selection yet.
First launched in 2018, the festival has become a firm fixture in the village calendar, with only two years missed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Organised by the village hall committee, the event raises funds to support the hall while bringing the community together.
This year’s festival will feature more than 29 cask beers, alongside two lagers and five ciders from 19 local breweries and producers. Visitors can also enjoy low and no-alcohol options, as well as a range of wines, spirits, cocktails and mocktails.
Village hall chairman Adrian Farmer said the event had grown steadily over the years.
He said: “We can’t quite believe this is our seventh festival. The event has grown each year while also still keeping its character as a village event.
“Support from a record number of barrel sponsors has been magnificent and we receive so much help from a number of individuals and partners in our community.”
The two-day festival opens from 5pm to 11pm on Friday, with Saturday running from noon until 11pm.
Live music will be a highlight on Saturday, with seven acts performing, including the Northallerton U3A Music for Fun Group, Rokkon, Supercharged, the Wiskey Band, Wildlife, Fumblehook and No Direction.
Hot food will be available throughout the weekend.
Entry costs £4 on Friday and £6 on Saturday, with admission including a commemorative glass and programme while stocks last.
