Christmas trees to be collected by council

Hambleton residents who have subscribed to the garden waste collection will receive a special collection for Christmas trees next week.

Normal garden waste is also accepted during this collection.

Collections will take place week starting January 11 and 18 depending on your collection week.

Normal garden waste collections will resume mid-February for those in the current scheme.

Trees must be chopped up and placed in the green bin with the lid closed.

Trees left at the side of bins will not be collected.  

Non subscribing residents will have to dispose of their trees themselves.

Trees can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Sandholme Lane, Sowerby; Yafforth Road, Northallerton; Leeming Bar Industrial Estate; Stokesley Industrial Estate and Tholthorpe for composting.

The sites are open daily from 8.30am until 4pm apart from Wednesdays.

Subscriptions for the 2021/22 garden waste service are now available.

The service starts 29 March 2021 and costs £40 per bin to join for the year.
