Bedale AFC, which won the Heck Harrogate League treble last season, entertained Catterick Garrison Football Centre on Wednesday at the Heck Stadium for the Will Abbotson Memorial Cup on Wednesday evening.
Will Abbotson was a local man who attended Bedale High School and played for Bedale Juniors FC, Bedale Reserves, Bedale FC, Bedale Academy, Masham FC and Henley’s FC.
Sadly, Will lost his life in a road traffic accident on December 5, 2011, aged 23.
The game was won by Bedale AFC 5-1 with goals from Colin Anderson (3), Mikey Stevens and Jonny Savings.
The cup was presented to captain Jonny Coombs by manager Al Pattison.
