People interested in starting an apprenticeship will be able to meet employers from a wide range of industries at a free event in Thirsk next month.
Thirsk and Malton MP Kevin Hollinrake is hosting an Apprenticeship Fair at Thirsk School on Thursday, October 22, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
Employers from across the constituency and further afield are expected to attend, with apprenticeship opportunities in sectors including manufacturing, technology, farming, IT, health and care, veterinary services, culture and youth work.
Further employers are also due to be announced ahead of the event.
The fair is open to people of all ages and is free to attend, with no advance registration required.
Visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly to employers about apprenticeships and find out more about the qualifications, skills and experience they are looking for.
Practical advice will also be available on preparing CVs, completing applications and what employers look for when recruiting apprentices.
Mr Hollinrake said: “My first job was as a milk boy, and I know how valuable that first step into work can be.
“Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to gain skills and experience while building a rewarding career, and I want to make sure people across Thirsk and Malton know about the opportunities available to them locally.
“We’ve already got a brilliant range of sectors represented, with more to come, so I’d encourage anyone interested in apprenticeships to come along.”
The Apprenticeship Fair will run from 4.30pm until 6.30pm at Thirsk School on Thursday, October 22.
There is no need to book in advance.
