The A167 between Northallerton and Darlington is closed following a serious collision.
The accident occurred at Great Smeaton just before 3.50pm today.
Four vehicles were involved including a car, a van and a tractor.
Fire crews from Northallerton and Ripon responded were called to the incident.
They rescued a female from one of the vehicle using cutting equipment, leaving her with the ambulance service.
Police say local diversions are in place and motorists have been urged to avoid the area until further notice.
Both the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Great North Air Ambulance were called to the scene.
