The A167 is blocked at Great Smeaton by a fallen tree.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
A spokesperon for North Yorkshrie County Council said: “A fallen tree is currently blocking the A167 at Great Smeaton, please avoid the area if you can.
“We’ve closed the road and are working to clear it as soon as we can.”
