Volunteers are being urged to help search for a missing dog near Richmond this morning (Sunday) after he disappeared more than a week ago.
Otto, a black and white cocker spaniel, has been missing since Friday, October 30, when he escaped from a grooming business at Lady Bank House, near Richmond.
The dog ran into a field behind the property and has not been found despite efforts to locate him.
His last reported sighting was in a field near Whitwell, towards Barkers Farm.
An organised search is taking place from 8am today, with members of the public being encouraged to help bring Otto home.
However, organisers have stressed that volunteers must not bring their own dogs.
Otto’s family have described the past week as heartbreaking but say they are refusing to give up hope.
Instead, sightings should be reported immediately, including the exact location, time and direction he was travelling.
The appeal added: “One sighting, one camera recording or one person checking the right hiding place could make all the difference.
“Come on Otto, your family is waiting. Let’s get you home safely.”
Anyone with information about Otto’s whereabouts should call 07414 920 539.
