CCTV appeal after guests leave North Yorkshire hotel with large unpaid bill

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following an alleged fraud at a North Yorkshire hotel.

A man booked two rooms at Crathorne Hall Hotel, near Yarm, and arrived on May 11, 2026, with two other adults and four children.

During their stay, the group ran up what police described as a large bar and room service bill.

However, when asked to pay, the group allegedly left the hotel without settling the outstanding charges.

North Yorkshire Police said the card used to book and pay for the rooms had insufficient funds, leaving a substantial unpaid bill.

Officers have now released a CCTV still of a man who may have information that could assist their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.

Information can be emailed to [email protected] or reported by calling 101, quoting reference 12260086487.
