Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was allegedly threatened by the driver of a van in Stokesley.
The incident happened between 2pm and 3pm on Monday, 1 June, on the High Street.
According to North Yorkshire Police, a male cyclist was travelling through a roundabout when he was confronted by the driver of a brown Volkswagen Transporter van. The driver is reported to have sounded his horn and shouted aggressively at the cyclist, allegedly because he had not indicated when leaving the roundabout.
Police say the situation escalated when the driver accelerated towards the cyclist, made threats to assault him and then attempted to strike him by swinging at him.
The cyclist was not injured and managed to ride away from the scene.
Several members of the public stopped to assist the victim following the incident, but contact details were not exchanged.
Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident, stopped to help the cyclist, was driving in the area at the time, or has dashcam footage showing the incident or the vehicle involved, to come forward.
