30 firefighters tackle Seamer building fire

Firefighters were called to a major building fire in Seamer, near Stokesley, today.

Six fire engines attended the incident which was reported at about 2pm.

The blaze was in a single-storey building measuring around 80 metres by 30 metres.

The building contains a number of vehicles.

Appliances from Stokesley, Danby and Northallerton attended from North Yorkshire Fire, appliances from Coulby Newham and Thornaby attended from Cleveland Fire Service.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The incident is ongoing with crews still firefighting using breathing apparatus and main jets.

“The cause of the fire is to be investigated.”
