Woman admits stealing scratchcards worth more than £33,000 from Thirsk shop

A woman has been charged with stealing scratchcards worth more than £33,000.

Sheila Hancock, 60, of Hambleton Place, Thirsk appeared in York Magistrates’ Court yesterday accused of stealing Camelot lottery scratchcards worth £33,233.84.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the theft which the court occurred between January 2020 and April 21 at Bytheway Stores, in Sutton Road, Thirsk

She will appear at York Crown Court next month for sentence.

The defendant was released on unconditional bail.
