Wensleydale Railway will once again be hosting its Model Railway Show.
The annual event will take place between on May 10 and 11 at Leeming Bar Station.
There will be layouts of various gauges from N to O on display, trade and model-making demonstration stands in attendance and hot & cold drinks and light snacks will be on sale from their static buffet coach.
Draft and bottled beer will also be on sale on the platform, next to the buffet car.
Refreshments will also be available at Bedale and Leyburn station cafes.
All passenger services over the weekend will be operated by the railway’s heritage diesel locomotives.
Their class 37 (37250), class 14 (D9513), class 14 (D9523) and class 03 (03144) diesel locomotives will be operating services between Scruton and Leyburn over the whole weekend.
The new livery of the railway’s class 47 locomotive (47714) will also be revealed to the public for the first time.
The railway bought this loco in November 2024, and it’s currently undergoing bodywork repairs and a repaint.
The class 47 will be on display inside the Leeming Bar shed, next to the model railway layouts and traders.
In addition to the separate model show entry ticket, the railway’s full range of train travel tickets will be available.
Visitors can choose the all-day train rover ticket for £25.
Normal return fares and single fares are also available. Children aged three to 15 travel for only £1 on the railway’s trains.
Nick Keegan, marketing and fundraising manager at Wensleydale Railway said: “This is the fourth year that we have hosted our model railway show at Leeming Bar.
“We will have ten layouts on display and a selection of trade stands and model-making demonstrations in attendance. Railway enthusiasts can also enjoy traveling behind some of our heritage diesel fleet over the weekend.
“Entrance to the model railway show is free for children aged 3 to 15, and they can travel on our trains for only £1 with our ‘kids-for-a-quid’ travel promotion.
“Bring the family for a day of big and small train fun at our volunteer-led heritage railway.”
