Police have issued an urgent appeal for information to help locate a missing man from Northallerton.
Mark West, 63, has not been seen or heard from since around 7.45am today.
He was last seen in the Romanby area near Northallerton.
North Yorkshire Police say they are extremely concerned for his welfare and extensive searches are currently under way to try to locate him.
Mr West is described as a white man, around 6ft 3in tall, with short dark brown hair and glasses. Officers believe he may be wearing a grey parka-style coat with a fur-trimmed hood, along with black jeans or trousers and black trainers.
Police say he may have links to York and Whitby, but he could still be in the local area.
Officers are asking anyone who may have seen Mr West, or who has information about his whereabouts, to come forward as soon as possible.
Anyone who sees him is asked to dial 999 immediately so officers can respond quickly and make sure he is safe.
