A therapy dog group is inviting families and dog lovers to a charity fun day later this month featuring a dog show, agility activities and stalls.
Jack and Pals Therapy Dogs will be attending the event on Sunday, March 22 at Stardom Agility, just outside Sinderby near Thirsk.
Visitors will be able to meet some of the therapy dogs at the group’s stall, while a raffle with prizes for dogs will also take place during the day.
The organisation is also sponsoring the Best Trick category in the event’s fun dog show. Other classes will include Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Best Rescue and Young Handler (14 and under).
Alongside the show, visitors can try activities such as have-a-go agility and hoopers, giving dogs and owners the chance to test their skills in a relaxed setting.
A range of local organisations and traders will also be attending with stalls, including Bloodrun Emergency Voluntary Service, Alley Cats Ripon and Dogs Lost Dog Tracking Network – North Yorkshire, as well as several local businesses offering dog products, gifts and collectables.
Food and refreshments will be available throughout the day from Bites N Brews.
Founder and volunteer Wendy Withington said the event promises to be a fun day out for dog lovers and their families.
“It promises to be an enjoyable Sunday. Bring your dogs along, whether or not you enter the show and include your family and friends – the more the merrier,” she said.
“The venue is just off the A1 so easy to reach. We look forward to meeting you at our stall where I am sure our dogs will greet you with a wagging tail.”
Money raised during the event will support several good causes including Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Penny Jones Animal Hospice, alongside the therapy dog group itself.
The event will run from 10am until 3pm at Stardom Agility, Ramshaw Farm, Sinderby, Thirsk, with free parking and toilets available on site. Organisers say if the weather is poor, the event will be moved indoors.
