Step back to the 17th century this weekend as Kiplin Hall celebrates 400th birthday.

Living history re-enactors will bring 1625 to life, sharing with visitors what it was like when the grand Jacobean hall was first built.

Kiplin Hall was the seat of the First Baron Baltimore, George Calvert, and has been home to four families over the centuries. During the celebrations, you might encounter Calvert himself, or even King James I, wandering the halls.

Outside, visitors can try Jacobean archery and watch the Sword School in action.

The Big Birthday Bash is included in admission, with re-enactors demonstrating the skills of leather workers, potters, cooks and musicians, all dressed in authentic Jacobean style – think extravagant ruffs and puffed sleeves.

Kiplin Hall and Gardens provide the perfect backdrop for this milestone celebration, running Saturday and Sunday, August 30–31, from 10am to 4pm.
