Residents across Hambleton and Richmondshire are being encouraged to help shape local policing by joining a new independent advisory group.
North Yorkshire Police is seeking members for its Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs), which aim to provide honest feedback, share community perspectives and improve understanding of local issues.
The groups are open to people from all backgrounds, experiences and communities, with no formal qualifications required.
Members will take part in quarterly online meetings, offering insight into the concerns that matter most to residents while also hearing from guest speakers across different departments within the force.
Officers say the groups play a vital role in ensuring policing reflects the needs of the communities it serves.
The first meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 21 between 6pm and 7.30pm.
Anyone interested in joining the group or being added to the distribution list is asked to email lauren.wilkinson@northyorkshire.police.uk or lucy.mawer@northyorkshire.police.uk.
Police say the initiative is an opportunity for residents to have their voices heard and to contribute directly to shaping the future of local policing across Hambleton and Richmondshire.
