Police grow increasingly concerned for missing Northallerton man

Police are appealing for help to trace a 63-year-old man who has been missing from Northallerton for several weeks.

Neil Kendrew was last confirmed to have been seen in Northallerton on Sunday, 7 December 2025, and officers say they are now growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Neil is described as white, around 6ft tall, of medium build, with brown hair. He wears glasses and is known to walk with the aid of a walking stick.

It is not known what Neil was wearing when he was last seen, or what clothing he may have now. However, he is usually seen wearing jeans and a padded green coat with distinctive diamond-pattern stitching.

Police believe Neil may have travelled using public transport and say he may have links to the Darlington area, as well as Northallerton.

North Yorkshire Police are urging anyone who may have seen Neil, or who has information that could help locate him, to come forward as soon as possible.

A spokesperson said officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Neil in recent weeks, or who may have CCTV, dashcam or other footage that could assist enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 12260022754.

If you have an immediate sighting of Neil, or believe you know where he is now, please call 999 straight away.
